The PIA solution platform simulates the control function for actuating fuel injectors and high-pressure fuel pumps in an automated environment.

Average System Cost: from $16,400

Learn More

PIA assumes the function of a control unit for actuating injection valves and high-pressure pumps, simulating a standard ECU. All parameters for actuation can be set flexibly. In addition, PIA includes all necessary power supply units (injector/pump supply) and optional measurement technology components for optimal function analysis. PIA has been designed so it can be applied in the laboratory and testing area as well as, thanks to its complete functionality, to be used for EOL tests in production lines. The new generation is based on the NI DCM-(Direct Injector Control and Measurement) device from National Instruments.

  • Compact
  • Drives and controls any type of injector or high-pressure pump
  • Multiple injections for up to 10 pulses per injection process
  • Fast, precise measuring transformers to record voltage and current curves
  • Easy integration through standard and custom hard- and software interfaces
  • Save solution costs since all required components are incorporated in one device
  • Plug & play solution platform
  • Profiles created in the research lab can be used to calibrate injectors in validation and production test
NI System Content
  • Direct Injector Control and Measurement (NI DCM) device
  • Powertrain Controls Modules for NI CompactRIO
  • NI LabVIEW based Apps for Windows
  • PIA application based on NI LabVIEW Real-Time and NI LabVIEW FPGA
