Medical - Domestic production of Moly-99
Phoenix Nuclear Labs

Phoenix Nuclear Labs enables SHINE Medical in the domestic production of Molybdenum-99.

Molybdenum-99 (moly) decays into Technetium 99m, the most commonly used medical imaging isotope in the world, providing almost 100,000 procedures per day. There are currently no domestic sources for moly-99 and production methods are limited due to the restrictions on the use of Highly Enriched Uranium (HEU). SHINE Medical, one of Phoenix’s key customers, has developed a process using Phoenix’s strong DT neutron source produce moly-99 without the use of HEU.
